An opportunity for students of Western & Indian Classical Music to boost their musical journey!

Tender Roots brings its program for Young Budding Musicians to 3 new cities – Pune, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad for the very first time!

Opportunities for selected school children:

  • long term mentor-ship from experienced musicians
  • opportunities to collaborate with other kids
  • experience of performing live at professional concerts
  • music scholarships

and more…

The Tender Roots Young Buds program is not a competition, but a specially designed program to nurture the next generation of Indian musicians. Students identified through auditions will be contacted whenever there are occasions for them to perform and will get opportunities to interact with professional musicians. Further, students will also be given scholarships starting this year, in exceptional cases.

In the past a Tender Roots ensemble of young musicians from schools across Mumbai had performed live in Mumbai and was even invited to perform at the reputed Jackfruit festival in Bengaluru. Many young students with exceptional talent have performed as part of Teen Prahar and also performed in the presence of maestroes like Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia & Pt. Shivkumar Sharma. All in all, being part of Tender Roots has proved to be an enriching experience for the many young school students who have benefited from it.

TESTIMONIALS

It was a lot of fun to perform in sync with other kids. The trip to Bengaluru was special since I made new friends and also got an insight into other percussion instruments, like Tabla and the Drum set.

Chaitanya HarikrishnaMridangam Player, Age 11, Mumbai

I’ve got a chance to jam with Vinayak Pol Sir himself and I will be coming to Mumbai regularly for more sessions in the future. Thanks to his expert tips and guidance my skills are improving. I definitely want to be a professional musician when I grow up.

JahnaviDrummer, Age 11, Indore

It is unbelievable that the Pt. Shivkumar Sharma ji himself heard me sing live on stage while I opened the concert Teen Prahar. Am super excited since he has promised to put me in touch with the right Guru for continuing my practice.
